11 months

Every night my husband and I creep into Amelia's room with the glow from his phone to see her sleeping. She is just the cutest thing ever. Seriously I couldn't love her more.

This month Mimi has tons more hair, she went from walking a few steps to very carefully walking 6 at a time, she has cut her 5th tooth, she's dropped and then added back her naps, she still loves food, she still sleeps through the whole night, she can dance and jump on command, she says Hi, Dada, B for breakfast and D for dog. She LOVES music, all music and will bop on the spot, she has become anxious when we leave the room and may cry for a moment, we finally completed her nursery and we discovered she loves playing outside with water! She is still on 3 milk feeds a day, one breastfed 2 formula or cows milk. She's now drinking really well from her sippy cups.

She loves playing games and you making funny noises at her! Her giggles are to die for! She can now wave bye bye which is super cute! She also loves climbing into cupboards, emptying drawers and playing under tables!

At 11 months old Amelia can do everything a baby her age should be able to do including:
  • get into sitting position from stomach
  • pick up an object with any part of thumb and finger
  • understand "no" but not always obey it

She can also do everything an 11 month old will probably be able to do including:

  • play patty-cake (clap hands) or wave bye-bye
  • walk holding onto furniture, cruise
Amelia can do almost everything a baby her age may possibly be able to do including:

  • pick up a tiny object neatly with tips of thumb and forefinger
  • stand alone momentarily
  • say one word other than "mama" or "dada"
  • The only thing she can't yet do from this category is to say "mama" or "dada" discriminatly
She can several things that 11 month old babies may even be able to do including:
    • indicate wants in ways other than crying
    • drink from a cup independently
    • use immature jargoning (gibberish baby talk)
    • respond to a one-step command without gestures
    • stand alone well
The things she cannot yet do in this category include:
    • say Mama or three or more words other than "mama" and "dada"
    • walk well
    • play patty-cake (clap hands) or
    • point or gesture to something to get needs met
    • "play ball" (roll a ball back to you)
    Here's the pictures from Mimi's 10th month!

    10 month Mimi

Amelia is 10 months today and as biased as I am she is awesome.

She's starting to talk, dada and daddy and do at the dog! She's storming about the house with her walker. She plays nicely with her toys. She plays beautifully with other children, unless they are much smaller than her! She's fearless! She'll climb on everything, throw things and try to touch everything....even if it's on another child! Children with hair bows are not safe around her!

She loves food, ALL food. Yesterday she had red and white quinoa with goats cheese, spinach, pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms and she wolfed it down! She now eats what we do, which makes life so much easier! She's still on 3 milk feeds a day. She loves toys, books, being sung to, taking things off other people, kisses, hugs, Madison, Bella, baths, having her teeth brushed, eating outside, splashing in the pool, crawling on the sand.

She does not like being tired or bored. Sometimes she needs to be held and will cry if she's put down, normally going out of the house or going to a playdate will fix this.

She still sleeps through the night, 7.30pm to 7am.

We now have warm weather so we have a paddling pool, outdoor toys, a sand box and a water table. Living here she has such a healthy outdoor lifestyle. It's wonderful, although she has factor 60 sun block on all day!

Her hair is growing day by day! As is she, she is so tall!

At 10 months old Amelia can do everything a baby her age should be able to do including:
    • stand holding on to someone or something
    • pull up to the standing position from sitting
    • say "dada" indiscriminately (sadly, not MAMA yet)
    • play peekaboo
    • exchange back and forth gestures with you
    • get into a sitting position from stomach
    • pick up a tiny object with any part of thumb and finger
    • walk holding on to furniture (cruise)
    • understand "no"
    • stand alone momentarily
    • stand alone well
    • use immature jargoning (gibberish sounds)
She cannot do any of the things a baby her age may possibly be able to do including:
    • say "mama"
    • say "dada" or "mama" discriminately
    • point to something to get needs met
    • walk well
    • object if you try to take a toy away
    • clap hands or wave bye-bye
She can, however, do many of the things that a baby her age may even be able to do including:
    • indicates wants in ways other than crying
    • play ball (roll ball)
    • drink from cup independently
    • pick up a tiny object neatly with tips of thumb and forefinger
    • respond to a one-step command (such as "give that to me" with one hand)

    Here's our ten month cutie!
